Join us for Steinway Artist Jun Matsuo In Concert on Sunday October 25th. Jun Matsuo is only the fifth Steinway Artist in South Carolina and one of 1,700 pianists around the world to hold the distinction. She joins a distinguished list of musicians that ranges from classical pianists like Lang Lang, to jazz stars like Diana Krall, to pop icons like Billy Joel, to legendary musicians such as Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Arthur Rubinstein.

Jun Matsuo joined the Coker College faculty in 2009 as a visiting assistant professor of music, teaching piano and music theory. Recognized as both a versatile as both a solo and collaborative performer, she has appeared as a guest pianist in New York, Maine, Florida and South Carolina. Her overseas activities include a recital and lecture at the University Sains Malaysiain Penang as well as being one of the selected performers at the French Piano Institute in Paris for master classes with Dominique Merlet, Pascal Devoyon, Noel Lee, and Roy Howat.

She earned her Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Pedagogy from the University of South Carolina, and prior degrees from Binghamton University and the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. Other studies include the Schubert Workshop at Oberlin Conservatory.
