Join us for Sundays with Steinway on October 21st at 3pm as we present Dr. Philip Powell, Associate Professor of Music at Coastal Carolina University.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in musical arts from the University of Oklahoma, a master’s degree in music and a doctorate degree in music from Indiana University.

A pianist, Powell has performed throughout the United States. His concerts are frequently heard on South Carolina Public Radio. He appears regularly as an adjudicator and guest teacher for competitions and master classes throughout the United States. Locally, he has served as president of the Coastal Concert Association, music director of the Festival of Music and Art at Pawleys Island, founding director of the “Musicale de Geneve” series, a member of the board of directors of the Long Bay Symphony and is a current member of the board of directors for the Litchfield Dance Academy. Powell studied at the Aspen Music Festival with the late Edith Oppens.
