Our Steinway Factory Trained and Certified Technician will come to your home and will not only tune your piano but will also advise you on your piano maintenance requirements. Subject to piano’s condition, our technician sets the piano to the proper pitch of A440. The price of a basic piano tuning for the local Columbia area is just $125. This price includes the travel time, coming in and tuning your piano and completing the work. There are are mileages charges for outside the Columbia area. Full Action Regulation.
Normal piano maintenance requires the adjustment of all action parts for proper wear and tear, performance, touch and tone. A full action regulation includes interior cleaning, hammer filing (as seemed necessary), all key and action parts adjustments, tuning and voicing and tone regulation. Price also includes a subsequent check-up and visit within 180 days and includes tuning.

RESTORATION AND REBUILDING
As one of the oldest Piano restoration center in the US, Rice Music House is known for its quality work and craftsmanship. We inspect your piano and provide you with a proposal for your review and consideration with the complete details of the work involved Restoration Services can be a Full and Total Restoration or even a partial restoration service with regards to Belly work, Sound Board repairs, plate work, bridge work, install new pinblock, restringing of pianos, cabinet touch up and repairs or complete cabinet refinishing, complete action replacement with new hammers, shanks, keybushings, new whippens, action assembly, action regulation, voicing and more. The Restoration Services offered by Rice Music House are as follows.
Belly and Soundboard:
With these services, we scrape, shim, sand, seal, refinish and varnish the soundboard. Replace piano block, replace stringing braid, replace damper felt and install a new pinblock, tuning pins and restring the piano.
Rebronze the plate, rebush trapwork, polish agraffes, refinish damper heads, relather trap work, replace interior hardware or polish all interior of the piano.
Action Work
With these services, we provide a total action work with regards to replacing Hammers and shanks, repititions, keyend felts, let off button scres and punchings, front rail punchings, shanks and flanges, backcheks, back rail cloth and also balance the rail punchings.
We also rebush front rail and balance rail. Sand and clean action rail, action frame and keysticks. Relevel keys and clean and refinish sharps. Polish action screws, action stack fram and front rail pins Voice New Hammers and do a complete Action Regulation. Overhaul the trapwork and lyre. Replace key tops fronts or polish the ivories if salvagable.
Tune the piano several times and bring it to pitch and do a total tone regulation.
Case Refinish:
Strip piano to barewood and stain piano with anline penetration satin Cote piano with sealer and with lacquer. Pumice the entire piano. Sand seal the piano. Hand rub the piano and all parts. Replace fallboard decal and refelt case parts. Repolish hardware and cote with lacquer. Stain, fill and color match as necessary in case of wood tones, mahogany, walnut etc. Refinish the bench also Hand rub and polish the piano.
